When I was kid, in the big busy city where I grow up, people used to say recreation means hanging around shopping mall. Outdoor recreation common associated with: hot, tiring, sweaty and un-comfortable. I carry this mindset when I came to Singapore 10 years ago until Jojo around 1 year old we start to explore outdoor activity such as park or playground as we think that kids should get dirty and play and explore outside. So we started to explore parks around Singapore and found out that Botanic Garden is quite a nice place to let the kid out without having us to be surround her.

When you looking around Singapore you may find out about Botanic Garden, one of the UNESCO heritage garden. You should come here if you never before.

Here are few things that we think is worth to try:

• Picnic, you Know music “Blanket on the ground” yes that exactly what you can do, blanket on the ground with picnic basket.
• Exercise, exactly: exploring a nice view, yet healthy.
• or sunny Sunday lazy day? laying down under the tree reading a book? why not?
• If you come from Botanic Garden MRT entrance, bit further inside you wouldn’t missed a big lake with Black swan and Turtle, nice place for kids to look around (this part, you can’t let toddler alone, they could either jump to the lake or fight with the swan :p)
• Inside the Garden itself, there is place called Jacob Ballas: this is a Children garden and a lot of activity for Children: Maze, Tree House with slides, Sandbox, Flying fox, etc. it’s really a nice and fun place for kids and yet the will learn a lot about plant and nature.

• on top of that, there are few restaurant that you could explore, one of our Favorite is CASA VERDE an Italian restaurant – they serve breakfast for people doing morning run or dinner for a nice cozy outdoor dining experience.
